All those things you've been hearing about women and chocolate are true! From lifting you out of a bad mood to getting you  in THE mood at the snap of a finger, chocolate is the real deal.

Let the stereotype thrive because well, the scientists say it's true. Now before this turns into a sesh for Chocoholics Anonymous, here some solid reasons why you can't put the candy bar down!

It Boosts Your Mood

Not only is cocoa a great aphrodisiac for the bedroom but, research has proven chocolate can boost your mood too. In a study by University College London, it was found that those who ate chocolate, specifically dark chocolate within 24 hours had a 70% lower chance of reporting symptoms relating to depression than those who didn't!

It's A Mood - Literally

Chocolate packs a punch and I don't just mean in flavour. Its chemical ingredients include a number of psychoactive ingredients which give you the type of high weed does. No, really, chocolate literally gives the same type of euphoria that cannabis gives off when you roll one during 4.20. Who would want to give this mood up? It also contains phenylethylamine, a neuromodulator that is believed to be important for regulating people's moods.

It's Bad For You

Based on the human condition we can't help but love things that are bad for us. 99.99% of the chocolate-coated confectionery and candy bars we desire are our kryptonite. The sad news is we are more likely addicted to the fat and sugar in milk-chocolate products than the chocolate itself.

"Our unfulfilled desire to eat chocolate, resulting from restraint, is thus experienced as craving, which in turn is attributed to 'addiction'."

You Won't Fully Indulge

Advertisers from near and far have used the indulgence trick for years to fool us into thinking eating chocolate is the greatest, sexiest, tastiest sin on planet earth.

As a consequence, we are hard-wired to want this dirty little habit as proven by the fact that Chocolate is the most widely and frequently craved food and why we wear the chocoholic label with honour.
